MEJIBRAY's hidden meaning? Not really!
Some weeks ago scrolling around the Internet I found really scary thing.
It was on one of Mejibray groups – someone asked “what is the hidden meaning of the name MEJIBRAY?”.
No one knew – but someone answered that he/she believes it’s connected to candies called “MEIJI”.
Well, no, my Dears. It’s not connected to candies or even Meiji Era! – surprisingly.(-_-)ゞ゛
But I will try to outline you the topic to not keep you in suspense any longer.
I think most of you have seen MEJIBRAY’s logo thousand times, but have you really paid any attention to it?↓
- Let’s
cut MEJIBRAY’s name – ME-JI-BRAY
- And write it in Japanese – め・じ・ぶれい
- And now use kanji & katakana – 目・耳・ブレイ
- And add “n” to last word to give it sense -目・耳・ブレイン
What do you see on their logo? – EYE, EARS, BRAIN !? Σ(゜ロ゜;)
► But I must admit, this was too hard for people, who don’t speak Japanese of course, because they must have known kanji and its readings.
What may it mean?
MEJIBRAY is visual band, which will bewitch you with their look and shows – EYE, with their music – EARS, and with their message – BRAIN.
I’d like to point here out the fact, that it’s only my reasoning. It wasn’t officially confirmed anywhere.
Akercock
We're listening to MEJIBRAY's lyrics and we're enjoying cool words, both sung and written in titles. But do we really know what do they mean? Do you know what is ‘akercock’? Or I’d rather ask you WHO is Akercock?
► Demonology says that Akercock is a demon attendant of Belphegor - ruler of slits and in Christianity symbol of one of the deadly sins – laziness.
In other sources than demonology, name of Akercock may be found in ancient British drama – “Grim the Collier of Croydon” aka “Devil and his Dame” (uncertain authorship, year 1662 – so let’s call it ‘Shakespeare times’).
Dream Eater INCUBUS
If we’re already in topics of demonology - who is incubus?
► Incubuses are demons, who donning the male form lie upon sleepers – especially women – in order to have sexual intercourse with them. Its female counterpart is succubus. According to a number of legends incubuses may pursue sexual relations with woman in order to father a demon child. This intercourse may result in deterioration of health or even death.
Black baccarat
Black baccarat – more precisely hybrid tea rose “black baccara” – is a dark crimson rose, which colour is so deep that it sometimes looks nearly black.
Tsuzuku mentioned many times that for him colours and flowers have special meaning.
- What is the meaning of red roses? – love
- What is the meaning of black? – despair
- What is the meaning of black baccarat? – black rose – love in despair
MADARI, EIPHILIA, SHUUEI, GESSHOKU ...
► Word “madari” in hindi means more or less “juggler”, someone who makes stupid tricks to entertain people (eg. on the street).
► Eiphilia – more precisely “Euphyllia ancora” commonly called ‘Anchor coral’ is widespread coral in the tropical waters of the Indo-West Pacific area from Maldives to the Salomon Islands.
► Shuuei is Tsuzuku self-created word meaning probably “ugly poem.”
醜(しゅう) - ugliness
詠(うた・う/よ・む)- to compose, to recite a poem
► Gesshoku (月食) means “lunar eclipse.”
But since it contains kanji for “moon” and “eating”, lyrics is “meal” themed.
